School Offer 3: Gears and Pulleys

How did the miller get his sacks of grain into the millstones? Examine the trap doors, lift the lid on the hoppers! All is revealed through wheels, cogs, gears and pulleys! Look at how our ancestors designed this ingenious machinery, and adapted it through time – then make your own machine and work in teams to create combined machines that work! This offer should start or contribute to broader discussions around design and technology and science at KS 1 & 2 levels.
